Music, vendors, and red, white, and blue! Downtown Morehead is the place to be on Fourth of July weekend each year. 

RUDY FEST

Fourth week in June

Located on Poppy Mountain at 8030 US 60 West, Morehead, KY

Come enjoy five days of bluegrass music with some of the top artists in the business! The Rudy Fest bluegrass festival began many years ago as a fundraiser for the local junior football league, coached by Rudy Burchett, and has transformed into one of the top bluegrass festivals in the country. MOREHEAD ARTS & CRAFTS FEST

Third Saturday in September

Located on Main Street, Morehead, KY

POPPY MOUNTAIN BLUEGRASS FESTIVAL

Third week in September

Located on Poppy Mountain at 8030 US 60 West, Morehead, KY 

Over 100 bands travel to Morehead the third week of September each year to share their love of music. A diverse array of transportation will allow you to explore an entire world of bluegrass. 

CAVE RUN STORYTELLING FESTIVAL

Last full weekend in September

Located at Twin Knobs Beach at Cave Run Lake, 5195 Twin Knobs Campground Road, Morehead, KY

Let America’s most beloved storytellers take you to other times and places while you enjoy the beautiful lakeside setting. Stories from a variety of regions and cultures are told by talented artists in large tents on the shore of Cave Run Lake at the Twin Knobs Recreation Area in the Daniel Boone National Forest.
